Here’s a way that you can support the work that goes into redd-monitor.org: Flattr.
Flattr is a social micro-payment system, set up by Peter Sunde, cofounder of Pirate Bay. It’s like a virtual tip jar and works like this:
- Set up an account at Flattr.
- Decide how much you want to pay each month (minimum €2).
- Let’s say you decide to pay €2 each month. When you find something you like you click on the flattr button on the website. At the end of the month, the €2 is divided between all the websites you “flattred.” If you flattr 20 things, each owner gets €0.10 – which isn’t much, but it all adds up.
Flattr has a video explaining how it all works:
Here’s a post explaining why you should put flattr on your website: “I want to give you my money.” The more people that use flattr, the better it will work. (It’s very easy: There are lots of plugins available for wordpress.org, the blogging system that redd-monitor.org uses.)
And if you like any posts on redd-monitor.org, click on the flattr button at the top of each post. It’s a good way of giving feedback. Thanks in advance!
