@Mike - There is research that shows that road transportation is a key driver of global warming: Road Transportation Emerges as Key Driver of Warming. For people without cars, public transport increases freedom. For people living in overcrowded, polluted cities, public transport increases freedom.

But if you're arguing that CO2 is beneficial and not a cause of global warming, then you would be turning science on its head. I'd be grateful if you post links to the peer reviewed science indicating that this is the case.

Strictly public transit limits freedom, and supports a growing government. The solution is to do your research and you will find emmission from automobiles and coal fired plants is beneficial to plant growth through nitrogens and Co2.

As long as there are autos, waste will continue, demand will grow. No protest can overcome economic demand. All countries rich and poor must turn away from the auto. The path to do that is free public transit.
