The Opposition has called on Prime Minister Sir Michael to fully explain who has benefited from over US$200m theGovernment allegedly recieved in payment for 33,333,333 metric tonnes of carbon credits.

Sir Mekere refered to a copy of the letter dated June 14, 2005, which purportedly confirmed receipt of payment to PNG National Government from Climate Assist (PNG) LTD for Carbon Credits. 

The letter was signed by then Acting Secretary for Trade and Industry Alois Tabereng and addressd to Chief Executive Director of Climate Assist (PNG) ltd Gregory Thomas Corby. The letter was counter signed by then Minister for Trade and Industry Paul Tiensten.

		<description>The supports of REDD network initiative brought us nearer, have been keeping us updated with the global issues. Overall, it has been contributing as a knowledge-bank network.

i think, REDD may think to organize some practitioners&#039; conference where we can come for one/two days, share on the on-going projects, lessons learnt, facing challenges and adapted mechanism to overcome it. Even, we can do it through this network but i am sure physical arrangements  and participation may ignite more options to address the REDD issues. 

 i think, such annual conference will be more practical and realistic to address the ultimate goal of the REDD.</description>
